Capturing the world one frame at a time

It all started thanks to a Lomo Simple Use, in September 2023.
My partner and I were planning a trip to New York and decided to buy a reloadable disposable camera so we could have photos to develop and print: visiting a city as colorful and evocative as New York seemed like a great way to start our own album of physical memories.
Although we both grew up surrounded by film cameras, neither of us had picked one up in over twenty years, and no one had explained to us that these types of cameras require plenty of light or a constantly active flash.
To make a long story short: once we picked up the prints and negatives, we discovered that out of four rolls of film, we managed to get just over 20 decent photos; all the others were underexposed or completely black. Try to imagine the disappointment and the shattered dream of the memory album.
So, after that terrible experience, I decided to invest in a small point-and-shoot camera. After doing some research on specialized blogs and YouTube channels, I discovered the Agfa Optima Sensor 335. Its compact design, red shutter button, and fairly affordable price convinced me to buy one. I think I shot my first test roll, a Kodak Gold 200, sometime between April and May 2024. And then another, and another, and yet another: any excuse was good enough to go for a walk and head out with my Agfa in my backpack, or at least within easy reach.
