Disposable Cameras Today

The decision to use a disposable camera, an AGFA Lebox 400, for a photo session stems from a malfunction with my Rollei 35 LED (which I often take with me on vacation). It’s also the result of a desire to photograph a world champion of windsurfing. It all happened in Naxos, the island where the champion, Lennart Neubauer, was born. I love the brilliant results of that first session in the middle of the Aegean Sea so much that I bought a new disposable camera, a Harman Ilford XP2 Super 400, for my stay in Paris.

This second time, I preferred to play with black and white. The result: always exciting and capable of restoring a 1960s magic to Paris. A disposable camera — let’s be clear — is an excellent solution for those who want to completely give in to the storytelling of their eyes, and is a cheap, effective substitute for a compact film camera. If the eye finds the right path, even the poor quality of the lens becomes immaterial. Trust me.
