Gently Watching the World: through the Memories of Aestheticarlotta

My name is Charlotte (some also call me Carlotta), I live in Brittany, in France, in a small village surrounded by the sea and landscapes that constantly feed my gaze. Since childhood, I have always had a strong connection with art and creation, whether through drawing, painting, cinema, or photography. In my daily life, I love exploring nature, walking for a long time by the water, or immersing myself in a forest. Often, these places become the starting points for my images.
In reality, photography has always been part of my story. In every family, you find photo albums filled with memories, but I believe that in ours, this passion was passed down almost unconsciously, as if it were part of our DNA. My aunt loved photographing the Wild Coast, the village, and its surroundings; she captured seascapes with a special sensitivity. By observing those gestures and seeing those images again, I realize that photography has always had an important place, long before I truly became aware of it.
Taking photos began to concretely be part of my daily life during adolescence, instinctively at first, capturing my loved ones and my surroundings. Very quickly, it became a way to document life: simple moments, the streets I walk, the places that move me, the people I love. Photographing is my way of keeping a trace of things. It’s a way of giving them a second life through an aesthetic that resembles me and lives deep within my being.
