The Best Filter Is Our Emotions

I live and work in Milan, but I was born and raised on an island in Sicily. Living surrounded by the sun and sea has been one of the most beautiful experiences of my life, and I am grateful to have had that fortune.
Milan is a multifaceted and deeply inspiring city: it absorbs you and constantly changes, and every day there is something new to observe and discover.
Besides photography, I love reading and writing. These two forms of art have always been with me and, in recent years, my goal has been to combine writing, reading and photography more and more — to merge them and create images that can express even more.
Travelling is one of the activities I am most passionate about. Exploring new places allows me to broaden my vision and the way I think. Keeping the ability to feel wonder alive is, I believe, one of the most beautiful things.
The place I feel most connected to, even if I don’t live there, is the airport — and here I laugh and smile. Airports have always fascinated me: there is such a strong flow of people, emotions and human stories. A crossing of eyes, minds and glances, so dense and intense.
Every time I enter an airport, I feel like I am in The Terminal: at first, it disorients me, then it welcomes me. It is one of my comfort zones.
On my bucket list, there is definitely Southeast Asia: Vietnam, Indonesia and Sri Lanka. I am fascinated and curious about these places, also from a photographic point of view.
